Mono

*Insert tape*Click>Play> Monochromatic photos have always been quite appealing for me. There's something about it that gives that sense of mystery, uniqueness and above all a classic touch on a subject. Above are some of the photos that I took for just shits & giggles and edited them in the way I would perceive in a monochromatic point of view *Click> Eject tape*

Randomness

*Insert tape>click>Play* Another day of randomness, been busy with work as well as preparing for the upcoming gigs in Miri, this Friday & Saturday. I am nervous as hell but I bet it would be a good experience. Anyways, been trying out another editing technique with Photoshop, was trying to opt for a sin city style ( A portraiture of myself), besides that, trying to recycle my old memo notes into origami art, and the most recent addition is while I was out and about taking photos for work, two photo subjects caught my attention, a water fountain opposite Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong and a cute orange cat sleeping on a tree outside the fish market :) randomness is the key of perking my day:) *Stop|Click|Eject Tape*

It can't get any fresher than this..

*Insert tape*click>Play> Another day of taking photos of delightful food at the restaurant today. Really loving this job as a graphic designer/ photographer for a company that has 3 restaurants ( Chef Mauri Group of Restaurants, branches of Italian Restaurants in Brunei) This morning I had an opportunity to make some bread sticks after taking some shots of it, then this afternoon had a try with new recipes for the drinks menu, made some tartufo ( Chocolate & vanilla ice cream truffles, coated with cocoa powder & peanuts) and finally watched the kitchen staff crave design strawberries for presentation. I love this part of the job. More photos in the near future :) *stop*click*eject tape*

*Insert tape* Click>Play> Another day in the office. This time in total Gaussian Blur of what to do for the day. Been taking photos of my office wall, it must be the effects of Gaussian Blur... The spiral painting that I took is one of my 2010 collections. Inspired by whirlpools in the ocean. Oh that reminds me! I went to the french film festival opening on 1st December, the opening film, Oceans, was bloody awesome!! I am a little bias when it comes to documentaries vs movies anyways. Seriously I want a copy! The cinematography, editing, post production works are brilliant! I must have a copy! Besides falling in love with Oceans and in Gaussian Blur mode, there are a few items I must express in regards to the photos that I have posted for today:
Top photo : Black and white prints are some of the design works I was working on and the colored print out is of Ulysses meeting the Sirens in his journey.
Second : A personal point of view of the over all look of my desk lol! While updating the company's facebook page! (Seriously in Gaussian blur mode) I think i need more things for my wall.... and my desk,... but what??
Third: is an anatomical visual of an ear, one of my out of the blue designs... I have a great interest in human anatomy.. just curious that's all :)
Fourth: My whirlpool painting
Final: The film i have fallen in love with Oceans...
Well that's it for now.. until next time *stop*click*eject tape*

Part II of Back in Action

*>play>* So as I said in the previous posted, dated today, I have ventured into a new line of art, concept modeling. Don't get me wrong, I still am painting ans sketching, etc, and again I must stress there are a few paint job I have yet to finish! So enjoy the works of Lee Abrio and crew :) *note* these photos were edited by myself. Not really an expert like the clicker crew of Master Lee, Sir Armie & Lord Azme :) *stop*click*eject tape*--

Is back in Action

*Insert tape* > Play> Its been over a year now since I last logged in. I can't believe time flies so fast. There's more paintings and more that is yet to be finished. This year alone has been quite a ride for me. Besides painting, I have started a new hobby now and its concept modeling. With a group of awesome photographers, Lee Abrio, Armie Hu & Azme Photographywork, not forgetting wonderful make up artists, Heidi Adanan, Andre Santiago as well as hairstylist Moore Iman. Last but not least, my partner in crime in the world of concept modeling, Nasroul Hizam, such an awesome person to work with.

My journey this year has been a fruitful one, with gigs here and there with my band Karacoma and changing day jobs, which I finally landed one a good one :) its been great and will be great in the future.

I have complied some of the photos from the shoots that I was in, its different to model for the camera, its a different art on its own. Its tiring but worth experiencing. I found that with an idea, any idea, you can make it happen.

Without further a due, I present to you, concept works of September/October 2010, photos are Copyright @ Lee Abrio 2010.
